IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester (33-3, 16 KOs) will return to the ring on June 5 when he takes on mandatory challenger Roman Karmazin (40-3, 26 KOs) in Germany. While Sylvester comes off an 10th-round TKO victory over Billy Lyell, Karmazin knocked out Dionisio Miranda to earn the right to challenge Sylvester. Bash Boxing had won the purse bid for the clash.
“Roman Karmazin and I are extremely grateful for the support of our friends and colleagues at RusLoto in St. Petersburg, Russia,” commented Bash Boxing President Steven Bash.
“In light of some timing obstacles surrounding a summer promotion in Russia, we look forward to working together with Sauerland Event in co-promoting this historic fight and making it available to boxing fans in Russia and all around the world. Roman Karmazin, a true road warrior in every sense of the word, is eager to come back to Germany and become the first Russian boxer in history to win a world title in two different weight classes.”
