World champion flyweight for only forty-seven days, in 1929, the Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand was one of the boxers featured in the post World War I in a category where he pocketed all titles.
Became blind after a retinal detachment, after a distinguished career (133 fights with 103 wins), "Snowy" Pladner no missing Paris meeting and was converted into a masseur.
Pladner Emile was born September 2, 1906 at the foot of the Puy de Dome, Clermont-Ferrand. But unlike the giant of the Massif Central, the little "Snowy" is a sickly child who weighs only 28 kg at the age of 14. The practice of physical culture allows him to develop. He also tried his hand at rugby, cycling and swimming, but enthusiastic about boxing.
After only two years of practice, he was crowned champion of Auvergne and the Centre, but was defeated in the finals of the amateur championship of France flies by Belhouze. However, the French federation selects for the European Championships in Stockholm (Sweden) in May 1925

where he won gold at 19, to Britain's Billy James in the smallest weight class.

On February 20, 1936 in Saint-Etienne, during a fight against Henri Barras, he can no longer distinguish his opponent on the left side, but won his last fight on points.

Victim of a detached retina, he ends his career in 1936 with a record of 103 wins (including 39 before the limit), 13 draws and 17 defeats. The attempted operation June 28, 1937 by Dr. Weil does not allow him to regain sight.
The former champion remains a loyal supporter of the noble art and is present at meetings in Paris, but he no longer sees the fighting as he says a friend. With admirable courage and with the support of his wife, he learned Braille and graduated from massage therapist in June 1940. Mais à la différence du géant du Massif Central, le petit "Milou" est un enfant chétif qui ne pèse que 28 kg à l’âge de 14 ans. La pratique de la culture physique lui permet de se développer. Il s'essaie aussi au rugby, au cyclisme et à la natation, mais il s'enthousiasme pour la boxe.
Après seulement deux ans de pratique, il est sacré champion d'Auvergne et du Centre, mais est battu en finale du championnat de France amateurs des mouches par Belhouze. Pourtant, la fédération française le sélectionne pour les championnats d'Europe de Stockholm (Suède) en mai 1925

où il décroche l'or à 19 ans, face au Britannique Billy James dans la plus petite catégorie de poids.

Victime d'un décollement de la rétine, il met un terme à sa carrière en 1936 avec un palmarès de 103 victoires (dont 39 avant la limite), 13 nuls et 17 défaites. L'opération tentée le 28 juin 1937 par le Dr Weil ne lui permet pas de retrouver la vue.
L'ancien champion reste un fidèle supporter du noble art et est présent lors des réunions parisiennes, mais il ne voit plus les combats que lui commente un ami. Avec un courage admirable et grâce au soutien de sa femme, il apprend le braille et obtient un diplôme de masseur en juin 1940. Après la seconde guerre mondiale, il est masseur au collège national de moniteurs d'Antibes, puis à l'INS où il procure notamment des soins aux athlètes Raphaël Pujazon et René Valmy. Il s'occupe par la suite de l'équipe de France de rugby. Retiré à Plaisance-sur-Gers, Emile Pladner s'éteint le 15 mars 1980 à Auch, à l'âge de 73 ans.
