Foreman - Norton

Foreman - Norton
World heavyweight championship
On March 26, 1974 at El Poliedro of Caracas in Venezuela, the American George Foreman faces his compatriot Ken Norton, as a unified world champion heavyweight in.
For his first chance world, Norton is as the most dangerous challenger for current Foreman.
The poster looks exciting between two forces of nature. However, Norton steps into the ring visibly tense. During the exchange of looks, this impression is reinforced. It even seems almost tied.
Yet from the very beginning, powerful hooks are balanced on both sides. Norton, a more slender shape than his opponent, seems paralyzed, barely touched a wide left, he broke

face to face to engage reverse gear.

Foreman ahead of him like a metronome. Early in the second round, a right uppercut, then doubled in a semi-hook uppercut with incredible power that shook the challenger finds himself sitting on the ropes. Eight count by the referee, he owes his extraordinary health to recover, before setting his opponent with a dark look. Do not fear sweat from his face, but a question nagging Ken Norton: How a boxer can be so powerful?
As soon as the fight resumed, Foreman launched a new bomb left and Norton is once again back in balance. The referee Jimmy Rondeau intervenes, but commits the error this time not to count. Norton impaled on a double into left and right uppercut and fell back on the ground. It clings to the ropes to try to recover
but severely tested, their struggle is useless.
The referee wisely stopped the fight as Foreman looks set to complete it. The icy stare, without any shedding of
joy when stopping, it is ruthless.

Undefeated George Foreman is one of the most fantastic and amazing hitters in history! At the edge of the ring, Muhammad Ali responds to exceed a provocative question: "Foreman hit hard, but it is not a boxer as talented and experienced than me. I'm not a puncher, but I've already beaten the most sturdy me: Liston and Folley. With the speed and technique, I will have it on points. If you hold five rounds by moving, staying out of reach, in great shape, you eliminate it. Foreman can not win that in two rounds if it's done! I boxerai and eliminate ... "

These statements are smiling through their excess, a press dazzled by the new king. Foreman, more modest, confessed: "This fight meant nothing to me. These are the authorities of boxing that I have imposed. I believe that if Norton had lasted it would become more risky. Again and again, I thought to leave

the account. I do not want him to get up and I did not let go, because I knew if the old man warming himself, was a different battle to expect. "
With humor, Norton analyzes otherwise his fight: "I had to bet the package from the gong. I wanted to do the" mano a mano "to force him to stop hitting and cash, then counter with a series of hooks. But forced to retreat, retreat and retreat without ever I ended simply by tripping! "
