Post Who is gonna pay for Box Nation?? Me
Although we have members from across the World, the majority are British and the majority of them have Sky tv.

Now Box nation is a new boxing channel on channel 456 on sky. It is free until November and after then it will cost £10 a month. Obviously there is a recession at the moment so i wondered who will be forking out more hard earned cash for this channel?

I have to confess that i will. Box nation have got lucky in many ways so far because its first two uk main shows were both great fights (Liam Walsh/Paul Appleby and Cleverly/Bellew). Also we have had Hopkins-Dawson and Cunningham-Hernandez with Pacquiao-MArquez 3 and other fights coming up.

What are other members thoughts??

I have been on and off with Setanta, ESPN, Primetime PPV's and all the others. I want to see the fights but I resent having to pay even more, Sky Sports costs enough as it is. Will probably pay but hate them for it. If it was in HD it'd be something..

Good to get Bunce back. And (so far) they seem to have better content than Sky Sports. And with a dedicated boxing channel it looks like they are willing to give good coverage to the undercard. I think £10 a month is fair. Some will complain, but hey, I think it's the American fans getting screwed paying $60 for PPV.

I think Pacquiao-Marquez III will be on Primetime PPV here.

Primetime PPV's too? It isn't cheap being a boxing fan. I don't think we pay any less than US fans overall. I admit the Sky PPV's are shit though. Most of the fights shouldn't even be PPV here.

Interesting question. Any Americans know what it costs to subscribe to both HBO and Showtime?

HBO or Showtime each cost about 68 US dollars monthly. The reason is because you just can't buy just HBo or Showtime. They come as a package. With my HBO package I get HBO east and west, HBO2, HBO3, HBO Latino and maybe one or two more depending on the provider(I have HBO on Satellite and cable)
The HBO package also includes a bunch of Cinemax channels that are exclusively premium movies.
Showtime is the same but has TheMovieChannel instead of Cinemax.

Most everything here aside from the basic channels is sold in packages. For example I ordered EPIX because they sometimes show fight cards from Europe and ended up with ten extra movie channels. I ordered FOX Deportes for boxing too and get 15 extra spanish channels.

Our perfect package for cable and satellite would be a boxing package where we could just get all the channels that air boxing and not have to pay for the extra 200 channels that come with it.

Lol how do you keep track? At least we only have boxing on a few channels. Guess Decypher's right though, does seem worse. At least you get to watch Spanish cooking programmes all day though

Thanks ghoster for explaining the US situation.
