Graziano - Zale
World Championship means
On September 27, 1946, in the heart of the famous Yankee Stadium in New York, Tony Zale, the defending champion middleweight world, and his challenger Rocky Graziano compete for the first act of a trilogy that will mark the history of modern boxing .
In a rare violence, the three clashes between these two boxers were overflowing with generosity tremble with terror those who attended.
September 1946, the time has come. Rocky Graziano will face Tony Zale for the world belt means. Polish origin, the defending champion is a fighter. His rippling muscles under her milky skin and her look of implacable robot are part of the legend in this category. Extraordinary collector, the master of the art of destroying his opponents respond to the sweet nickname "piece of steel." Two words that sum up its hardness, but also the first reference to his work.
On September 27, Yankee Stadium's record attendance records for a non-heavyweight championship. The New York Tribune announced its A "Blow by Blow" (shot for shot). A title that illustrates the thrill fueled this collision

between combatants animated by a desire to win none. The challenger, as his supporters cheered as a "living god" when he entered, the hard fighting fires from the initial gong. Its dynamism is beyond the fanatical champion stuck in a corner. Head down, the Italo-American attack as a "pitbull" enraged. The two men hit ever. Rocky dark, indifferent to the thoughts of getting hit. Zale replica. Neither wants to give.
Suddenly, Graziano cash a check and can be found on the buttocks. Count five, he gets up, all smiles. The second cover is amazing! The determination of the two men ice spectators. Two hooks affect Graziano Zale. The latter, experienced, is saved by the bell. In the limit of sportsmanship, the duel is tinged with fouls. In the sixth round, the two men are exhausted by the barrage of violence they have made. Suddenly, out Zale ropes and connects a left with a heavy right to the stomach. Doubled, Rocky slips to the ground. For the first time, he is unable to recover. Leaving the ring protected from the wrath of the supporters of his rival, Zale triumph over the land in New York. The furious battle will be voted "Fight of the Year 1946".
Back at East Side, Rocky thinks only of revenge. To his loyal fans, he promises, "Zale to kill in the ring!". Unfortunately, his success behind the scandal, like a convict's ball. His former "friends" of the underworld smell good time. They threaten to unpack his past to the press and the summit for his return to lie face-grade without Reuben Shank. How to solve this, when all these kids that build up in front of him took him to an idol? How to betray his people who has always supported?
Impossible. Graziano invokes a wound to cancel the appointment. But the investigation of the commission's proposals dishonest. When asked, Rocky refuses to list the names of mobsters who have offered him 100,000 dollars to lose. The penalty falls: He was suspended a year! But against all odds, the board of Illinois refuses to follow this severe decision. Graziano find Zale in Chicago, the lair of the man of iron.
On July 16, 1947 at Chicago Stadium, 20,000 people attend one of the most frightening battles of modern times! Contrary to his habits, Graziano is cautious in the early rounds. Zale, equal to itself, advance constantly in search of decisive blows. At the end of the third round, a heavy right to the chin picked Graziano. It collapsed on the back. The referee can only count 4! Furious, he leaped to his feet. And recovery following it that drives him Zale. A fight "every inch" committed while. During the fifth, the public standing, frightened by the intensity, n'hurle more. Long silences camped the dramatic situation. The tension is unbearable. Graziano unleashed even if the bombs Zale collide regularly.
Distraught, the referee warns the corners. "If you do not take your responsibilities, I will be forced to stop the fight. In Chicago, there is the death penalty for complicity in murder, "Graziano retorted:" If you arrest me, I murder you on the spot! "In the sixth occasion, Rocky launches a powerful right. Slowly, his rival collapsed into the ropes. It is KO. In tears, the New Yorker is the revenge of his life. He shouts at the microphone, "Mom, your worthless son of

has finally done something right! "
In this fight, Graziano later wrote in his biography: "It was not a boxing match, but a horrible fight. I still can not view pictures of the fight without having nightmares. "On June 10, 1948 at Rupert Stadium in Newark, the fair lasts only three rounds. And yet Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano reach the peak of violence in the ring. The carpet in the 1st round, Graziano Zale stuck on the edge of the break in the next recovery. But Rocky succumbs to third on a hook against.
Zale will play only another championship. He conceded his belt to Marcel Cerdan September 21, 1948 in Jersey City. Five years later, after a series of compelling success, a chance find Graziano world. Unfortunately, he will meet with Sugar Ray Robinson at the zenith of his art.

Post Re: Graziano - Zale World Championship
Graziano - Zale
Septembre 1946, l’heure a sonné.
