LaMotta - Dauthuille
World Championship middleweight
15th round

He missed only thirteen small second at the "Tarzan Buzenval" to become world champion middleweight, September 13, 1950 in Detroit, and avenge the memory of Marcel Cerdan.
This allows historical KO Jack LaMotta to retain its world crown, while Laurent Dauthuille led to points.
The September 13, 1950 in Detroit, Laurent Dauthuille passes thirteen small seconds of happiness. Barely a quarter of a minute, a blink of an eye for beautiful American women seated at ringside. In a series of strokes, the Picard hand backward. He spreads his arms, bounced into the ropes and sits heavily on the carpet. His face is distorted as that of Jack LaMotta whose shoulders have never seemed so heavy. But tonight, the Italian-American is the winner by KO in this confrontation voted "Fight of the Year" for the U.S. monthly "The Ring".

Over twelve rounds, Dauthuille managed to contain the attacks of disordered champion whose left eye is almost closed. By sets of hooks against the French seems to have sapped the strength of LaMotta. But three times in the end, "Tarzan of Buzenval" also shows signs of fatigue. Yet in his corner, a man incites
to continue its attacks. This character is Herman Blaustein. It was presented to Andrew Barraut, coach Dauthuille, clan and lights two weeks ago by Max Waxman, a member of the organization of the World Championship ... and friend of Joey LaMotta's brother. At the call of the fifteenth and final round, Blaustein incites Dauthuille again to advance. "Go back inside her, you have to knock," he urges, leaving Barraut speechless. The challenger runs by throwing his remaining strength in battle. But it also takes a beating. A final set is fatal.

LaMotta retain his world title means took fifteen months earlier Marcel Cerdan and got the purse of 60,000 dollars promised to the winner. Laurent Dauthuille must be content with 5000 granted to the vanquished. A thirteen seconds of the last gong, he led eight, four and two points on the board of judges.

LaMotta - Dauthuille
Championnat du monde des poids moyens
15e round
