Post Title chance for Froch: facing Abraham for WBC belt
Title chance for Froch

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 92,00.html

Carl Froch will bid to reclaim the WBC super-middleweight belt when he fights Arthur Abraham in Helsinki on November 27.

Froch had lost the belt to Denmark's Mikkel Kessler - but with an eye injury ruling him out of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, the belt is now vacant.

Initially the semi-final between American duo Andre Ward - already the WBA champion - and Andre Dirrell had been to be for the WBC belt as well.

However Abraham's management company Team Sauerland have won an appeal, so that the European fighters will now contest it in the other semi-final.

Chris Meyer, the general manager of Team Sauerland, said: "We welcome the WBC's decision. We are very happy for King Arthur. On November 27, he will finally be world champion again."

i like this that way we get a unified champion at the end of it

can someone tell me though if say
Froch and Dirrell both lose they are tied with 2 points
if say Green or Johnson win by a decision the winner gets 2
so Froch would qualify for the next round because he holds a win over Dirrell
but how do they decide who goes through out of Dirrell and the winner of Johnson-Green?

From a neutral standpoint I think this is a 50/50 fight.

If Froch comes in with the right plan and executes it I think he can outbox AA.
On the other hand AA's pressure and power is something I don't think Froch can handle.

This fight has all the ingredients to cook up a great fight. I think it's a brilliant matchup and I can't wait.

Froch can definitely win the early rounds by output alone... but he won't hurt Abraham early, the defense is too good.
But when Arthur starts to time Carl... when Carl starts repeating himself in the ring... well, it's what Abraham does - he'll unleash everything he's got in a well timed shot or counterpunch; and Froch won't be expecting it. Arthur doesn't throw with all he's got early on in a fight, so Froch won't think too much of his punches. But when Arthur opens up and lands flush, that's when we'll see what Froch has. A chin? Heart? Stamina? He'll be tired from trying to get past AA's defenses the first 5-7 rounds. He won't expect the timing from AA. And he won't believe the power when it comes.
Possibly the best fight in the S6 I think...

Even better is that there's a huge chance they will immediately rematch in the semi-finals right away!
