 ITV pull out of boxing?
Froch and Co set for KOhttp://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... or-KO.htmlITV are ready to pull the plug on boxing again, just two years after they moved back into it. WBC super-middleweight king Carl Froch has been headlining their shows and pulling in more than a million viewers. ITV4, who have also been showing small hall events, are set to call time as well. Froch does not have a contract with ITV and will be free to go to another channel. ITV4 have a main deal with Hennessy Sports, which is understood to have at least another 10 events to screen. If ITV pull the plug immediately, they would have to pay up that contract - believed to be worth around £1million. But the likelihood is they will just let it expire by the end of this year.

Hey, there are a few of us liberal fight fans out here! It is depressing for us UK fight fans tho.. Everything is going down the pan.. Next thing we'll have to go down the local amateur gym to catch some fistic action cos the TV will be full of gay house designers and talent shows Such a shame if this happens, hopefully Setanta will pull the finacial troubles out of the bag, and Sky will take over some of the loss fights. Come on BBC, it is our money you are spending. And speaking of talent shows, did anyone see the final of Britains Got Talent

Re: ITV pull out of boxing?
Men will always box, as long as they are legally allowed. Yes, the lack of coverage signals a decline, but wouldn't it be fantastic if in its place, small clubs staged local shows throughout the country, and decent area level or even british level fighters appeared on these regularly and were watched by local patrons in the flesh on an almost weekly basis....
pah, who i am kidding?
It worried me, because boxing is becoming more and more marginalised.
Another kick in the nuts after the Haye injury
