David Haye vs Chris Arreola: Who WOULD win?

Two of most exciting fighters in the heavyweight division are looking for opponents. David Haye was scheduled to fight IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on June 20 in Germany. He withdrew on Wednesday with a back injury. Klitschko will now fight undefeated Ruslan Chagaev. Unbeaten Chris Arreola would like to get a crack at WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. But Klitschko is currently involved in a legal mess with the WBC, who are trying to force him, against his own will, to defend his title against Oleg Maskaev.

Dont think id put too much money on the outcome of this fight. Haye tremendously quick, tremendously powerful but tremendously vulnerable.

Arreola fast hands, decent power, i think he takes the better shot but is horrendously out of shape and can he go 12 rounds.

I feel Haye is the better fighter but that Arreola would hang with him and it would be very interesting.

I feel in the current climate, that neither man will face the other as they are both probably only 1 fight away from a title shot ( now Hayes if off ).

I would envision a Foreman-Lylesque war here-like a Moorer v Cooper slugfest.
Haye has perhaps the better speed-Arreola may have the better heart. A war for sure! One i would love to see.

Haye's best chance is against Valuev.

Reasons why:
They both were just training for a fight...
Valuev can extend his training camp easily to adjust...
Haye claims he can be ready by July 11th...
It's a title opportunity for Haye...
It's probably Valuev's best chance at a big money fight...
If Evander can soundly outwork Valuev, shouldn't the new cruiser sensation be able to?...
It could rid us of Valuev...
Or it could rid us of Haye; or at least his irritating inactivity...

Haye might actually get paid this way instead of being tied to down the drain Setanta...
A Hayemaker win would see him able to fight the Klitschko's on his own terms, as a champ, w/o the brothers' rematch clause...
Arreola is too dangerous for too little reward...

This would be an interesting and possibly explosive heavyweight fight, I don't like how open Arreola looked to right hands against Walker, then again once he got hit and put down, it seemed to wake him up. Haye hasn't really been tested at heavyweight so there are question marks about his chin and stamina, Arreola would test both. Haye's speed should give him an edge here, even though there are many questions surrounding Haye at heavyweight I think he has enough to beat the Nightmare, Haye by knockout.

I feel that the knockdown against Walker really proved Arreolas chin. Its weird how the same thing can give 2 boxing fans a different impression. My take on it is although Walker is a poor heavyweight he is a massive banger and he caught Arreola with a massive punch and it only sent Arreola to one knee.

I still dont know who i would bet on though. :thumbsup:

I feel like Haye would win this fight by KO without facing too much trouble from Arreola. Haye actually trains and gets in shape for fights. Plus he has faster hands, better skills, and more power than Arreola. Arreola would come out swinging wild shots and Haye would counter with something good that would put Arreola out for the count.

The Walker fight did prove Arreola's chin somewhat because he took more than his fair share of shots and seemed dazed at most when he got knocked down but is Walker a bigger puncher than Haye? I think Haye is the bigger puncher but punching power is also a question that hasn't really been answered by Haye at heavyweight yet, knocking out a faded Barrett and a guy like Bonin doesn't answer much.

Anyways, I think Haye would answer these questions with yeses, that's why I picked him but it's impossible to say until he actually proves himself.

Indeed, it's amazing how different people can view things differently in boxing.
