What Happened To Cedric Boswell?

Cedric Boswell was undefeated on 6/21/2003. He was supposed to fight Vitali Klitschko in the undercard of a Lennox Lewis vs Kirk Johnson fight.
But come fight night, Kirk Johnson pulled out and Vitali got the chance to move up to the main event and fight Lennox...
Imagine if it had been Boswell who got the call instead of Vitali! It might be a very different world at heavyweight right now because in many ways the Lewis/Klitschko fight defined Vitali and still does.
After that night Boswell had to wait another 4 months before he fought again. He faced Jameel McCline.
Boswell probably won every single round of the first 9 rounds. He's always been light on his feet and McCline looked pedestrian. Until Jameel caught Boswell in the 10th and knocked him out.

That's Boswell's only loss. He watched Vitali jump ship on their fight night; watched Vitali get the title shot and all the kudos he earned even in that loss of Lewis; he then had to wait another 4 months to fight and lost for the first time ever. The world was clamoring for a Vitali/Lewis rematch in October of 2003 and Boswell was on the outside and he paid for his distraction by losing his perfect record.
Boswell took 3 years off from boxing. He fought just once in 2006. Then 3 times each year since then. He's undefeated in 8 fights in a row, including a 2 round KO against undefeated 27-0 Roman Greenberg for the IBF North American Heavyweight Title, who retired after Boswell bested him. And he's now 31-1 with 24 knockouts.

There are youtube videos of Boswell promising great things, if just his promoters would make the fights. But his opponents have been mediocre at best since then. He even called out the winner of Arreola/Klitschko when he beat a guy named Salif in the undercard. Yet Cedric Boswell hasn't fought in a year now; since 9/26/2009.

Another story - On April 16th Tony Thompson was to fight Jason Estrada. Estrada pulled out and the word was that Boswell would be stepping in. But it didn't happen. Instead Thompson fought and beat Owen Beck by 4th round KO. And now there is talk of a possible Thompson rematch with Wlad Klitschko, if Wlad can't get anyone else to man up. Jean-Marc Mormeck apparently priced himself out against Wlad just recently and Thompson is ranked number 8 by the IBO - a belt Wlad might need to defend. What if Boswell had beaten Tony Thompson on April 16th though? Would Wlad call his number? Will anyone call his number? Boswell claimed last year he couldn't get anyone to fight him... is it true?

Whatever happened to the bulky, stong looking, promising old prospect, the light-footed, heavy-handed KO artist that seemed destined for a title shot?
