Saul Alvarez turned in his best performance last night by stopping Kermit Cintron. Forget the fact Cintron lost two of his three previous bouts and looked terrible, Alvarez is ready to turn up the volune on his career. What fights out there would rise him above him above countryman Julio C. Chavez Jr?
Many suggest Mayweather but I am not sure he is ready for that large a leap and we don't need another Mayweather-Ortiz.
Perhaps the winner of Cotto-Margarito? Would Golden Boy allow this?

Zaurbek Baysangurov-WBO titlest, would he fight in Mexico?
Corneluis Bundradge-IBF titlest, style seems right for Alvarez
Austin Trout-One of the WBA titlests(go figure!) Might be a better test for Alvarez than expected.

I hope Margarito retires after his bout with Cotto. So if Cotto doesn't look too sluggish and doesn't lose, then he should be Alvarez' next opponent.

Him talking about Mayweather and Alexander in the same sentence is hilarious though. Alexander could possibly win over Alvarez on work-rate alone and don't get me started on Mayweather. PPV numbers would be BIG if Alvarez is Floyd's next opponent but Canelo has not deserved such a big payday, yet.

I heard Sergio Martinez is after ALvarez, but Alvarez-Chavez in front of a 50,000 strong crowd at a Mexican bull ring sounds good to me..

Alvarez vs JCC Jr is what I'd like to see next.

I would go for Kirkland or Lara. Lara is the bigger threat i would suggest, he ist well schooled, a very good mover. Kirkland is strong, and (i think) not as broken as Cintron by his ko-loss. Would be interesting to see, how Alvarez handels the Kirklands pressure. If he can box, moving backwards, or if he will take over, so Kirkland is the one under pressure?

And of course, as a Cotto Fan, i would like to see how Cotto handels the youngster. But for Cotto is nothing to win here, he is still in an other class (just my opinion).

j saw the fight and I also saw a very tense Cintron and without great desire, two years ago and Alvarez might have won, but not as easily, Cintron is no longer the fighter he was.

That said Alvarez really hurts every time point, if not burn steps (go right to Floyd would be suicide) it could be a very good career, I wait to see him in the end against a technician for me a final opinion.
